Teeth Whitening
Do you want brighter teeth? A sparkling smile can make you feel more attractive and confident. Our dentists can help you achieve a radiant smile through our professional teeth whitening services.
Teeth Discoloration
Our smiles make a big impression on those around us. Teeth can darken or turn yellow over time. As we age, the hard enamel on the outside of our teeth wears thin from eating and brushing. This allows the yellow inner portion of our tooth, dentin, to become more visible. What we eat and drink can affect the shade of our teeth, especially if it’s acidic.
The following foods can stain your teeth:
- Tea
- Coffee
- Red Wine
- Soda
- Berries
- Pasta Sauces
Certain medications and nicotine use can also darken or discolor teeth.
Professional Teeth Whitening
While some practices offer in-office whitening, we’ve found that the results don’t last as long and tooth sensitivity is much more pronounced with this method. In our experience, whitening works best if we make custom trays that look like mouthguards for your teeth and then provide you with a whitening solution to take home.
You’ll be given instructions from one of our dentists on how to use your whitening kit at home. Remember to follow the directions and try not to wear the whitening trays longer than the prescribed time. Too much whitening can harm your enamel and gums.
You will start to see results in a few weeks. Some tooth sensitivity or gum irritation is normal after whitening. Come see us if these side effects don’t disappear after a few days.
